SEIDOR grows in Italy with the purchase of two technology companies, and boosts its presence in southern Europe

We continue to grow in southern Europe, and in particular in Italy's IT sector, with the acquisition of Gunpowder and ECA Consult, two Italian companies specialising in technology solutions. With these two acquisitions, SEIDOR incorporates 120 professionals, who join the staff of the Italian division, based in Milan, which the consultancy launched in 2019.

Gunpowder is a technology company specialising in the digital transformation of companies, and is a pioneer in using technology from Salesforce, one of the most comprehensive Customer Experience (CX) cloud-based platforms. It was founded in 2016 as an academic spin-off of the Department of Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of L'Aquila, the city from which this new SEIDOR unit will be run. With its integration into SEIDOR, the current team at Gunpowder will be able to expand to international projects outside Italy and will be able to round out its portfolio with innovation, Customer Experience, ERP, cloud, cybersecurity, and other solutions and services.

As for ECA Consult, this Italian company specialises in IT solutions for SMEs and it is an SAP Business One partner, having been in business since 1993. Over these two decades, the company has provided comprehensive management solutions, with a focus on small and medium-sized enterprises. The resulting SEIDOR unit will be managed from Mordano (Bologna), where the newly acquired company is based.

In both cases, due to their knowledge of and roots in the Italian market, SEIDOR's new units will keep their current management teams, with the aim of continuing to operate as engines of innovation and support for companies in the country. This operation will enhance the positions of these companies thanks to the expertise and capacity of a global consultancy like SEIDOR.

Growth and diversification

SEIDOR has been present directly in Italy since 2019. It is worth noting that the Italian division of the consultancy firm currently specialises in implementing e-learning solutions and has an installed base of 50 customers, with a focus on higher education (universities and business schools), such as the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, the University of Venice Ca'Foscari and the University of Verona.

By purchasing Gunpowder and ECA, SEIDOR is speeding up the process of diversifying its portfolio in Italy to offer comprehensive services that respond to the needs of large companies and SMEs.

These acquisitions also provide an opportunity for SEIDOR to continue branching out geographically within the technology sector, where it already has a significant presence in Europe in countries like Spain, France, Portugal, Ireland, the United Kingdom and Belgium, which allows it to offer its broad portfolio of innovation solutions and services to new customers and organisations in order to help them overcome their business challenges and achieve their goals.
